📝 Dr. Wang is a neurotrauma researcher and neuroscientist since the late 1990’s. From his work at the University of Florida, his decade-long experience in big pharmaceutical companies (Parke Davis & Pfizer) and two biotechnology companies he co-founded – Bayan Biomarkers and Gryphon Bio Nand now at Morehouse School of Medicine and the Atlanta VA, his interest is translational research on biomarkers and new therapies for neurotrauma and related CNS disorders. Two acute traumatic brain injury (TBI) blood-based protein biomarkers (UCH-L1/GFAP) he co-discovered and developed diagnostic assays for had resulted in FDA and European EMA regulatory clearance as the first in vitro diagnostic blood tests for mild TBI patients. He also holds leadership positions in Neurotrauma Societies and several multi-center consortium studies. Dr. Wang is Principal Investigator of multiple research grants funded by National Institute of Health, Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs and other research foundations. He has also authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, edited /co-edited 6 scientific books and is a key inventor of more than 15 US and international patents.
